Emerald Rings Guide

An emerald eternity ring symbolises never-ending love and the eternity ring is usually given by a husband to his wife on their wedding anniversary or after an event such as the birth of their child.

The full eternity ring has stones set into the ring for its entire circumference, whereas a half eternity ring is set with stones for only part of its circumference. The full eternity ring can sometimes be a little uncomfortable to wear as the band needs to be quite thick. Also, the stones need to be quite small and this may not suit people who prefer thinner ring bands or larger stones, so these people may prefer to wear the half eternity ring. Many people prefer to have rectangular cut or square cut emeralds since these fit perfectly end to end around the band of the ring. Combining emeralds with diamonds is popular and gives a nice contrast of colours without the colours clashing, so an emerald and diamond eternity ring is another option.

There are no hard and fast rules as to which way the eternity ring should be worn, and some people choose to wear them on the same finger as their wedding ring while some prefer to wear the ring on a different finger.

An emerald eternity band may not be right for everyone: smaller emeralds can sometimes be prone to breaking or chipping due to their natural fissures and inclusions and therefore their use in eternity rings must be carefully considered as emerald eternity rings usually use stones which are quite small.
